THANK YOU Mimi’s Café !!!
Back in 1989, the FVRR was asked to play for the opening of a new restaurant called Mimi’s Café on Brookhurst. Since that performance, Mimi’s has donated meals to the FVRR from time to time. In the summer of 2008, the Fountain Valley General Manager agreed to donate many meals to the FVRR to improve the FVHS Music Program. Mimi’s Café has come to the rescue creating a real class act for the Regiment providing our FVRR instruction staff with meals and a place to hold planning meetings. A few meals were also used to award special students of the Regiment.
With the continued cuts in the state funding for art programs, the responsibility to pay for the operations of the high school band falls upon the parent booster group and outside community support from local businesses. The booster organization has a limited budget, and there is very little room for hiccups. Providing special meals like this from the FVRR general fund is out of the question …now our FVRR staff feels special working with a first class organization thanks to Mimi’s.
