Scrip Program Information
How Scrip Works
- Buying scrip is a way to get $$$ back for purchasing items that you would buy anyway!
- The scrip program purchases gift cards for all types of retail and e-tail outlets at a discount.
- Parents purchase the gift cards at full face value (cards have full value when shopping). Payment currently is by cash or check.
Credits to Student Accounts
- For each card purchased, the discount is calculated (the discount percentage varies by retailer).
- As an example, for each $100 of Albertson's purchased, $3 is put in the student’s personal account.
- Scrip credits are sent to the treasurer each month so that they can be added to the student accounts.
Types of Retail Outlets
- The scrip program has a wide variety of gift cards in stock, and others which can be "advance ordered". The most current list will be kept on the web (TBD, due shortly).
- Here is a very short list of typical in-stock gift cards:
- Gas – Arco, Chevron, Exxon/Mobil, Shell
- Grocery – Albertsons, Vons, Smart & Final, Stater Brothers, Mother’s
- Fast food– CarlsJr, Chipotle, Subway, JambaJuice, Wendys, Starbucks, Coldstone
